Composition and properties of aluminium plate 5083

5083 belongs to Al-Mg series alloy and AL-Mg series alloy. It is the most widely used rust-proof aluminum. This alloy has high strength, especially anti-fatigue strength. It has high plasticity and corrosion resistance and cannot be strengthened by heat treatment. Plasticity is good during semi-cold work hardening, low plasticity when cold work hardening, good corrosion resistance, good weldability, poor machinability, and polishing.

Application of aluminium plate 5083

The most typical application of aluminium plate 5083 is as a marine grade aluminum sheet. There are many parts of the hull, and the types of aluminum alloys used are naturally different.
a. On the side of the ship, 5086 aluminum plate and 5052 aluminum sheet can be used as the outer plate of the bottom of the ship.
b. The top and side plates of marine vessel containers can be made of 3003 aluminum plate, 3004 aluminum plate and 5052 aluminum plate. 3003 aluminum plate has good rust prevention effect. Under long-term wind and rain, the rust of the top plate can be reduced to a certain extent.
c. Aluminium plate 5083 and 5052 aluminum plates can be used in the pilothouse. The non-magnetic aluminum plates make the compass unaffected and ensure the correct direction of the ship during navigation.
